Janet
RYT 300 Yoga Instructor
My journey into the world of yoga began over 30 years ago, back in the “Big Apple,” when a friend reintroduced me to the practice. Despite my gymnastics background, I found the downward dog pose unexpectedly challenging and realized there was much more to yoga. This curiosity led me to explore various styles, and ultimately, I discovered my teacher, Linda. Herclasses became a sanctuary for me; I left each Saturday morning session feeling invigorated and ready to tackle anything.
Yoga quickly became a passion I couldn't live without, but moving to Houston, TX, made finding
affordable and convenient classes difficult. As the years passed, I felt both my mind and body yearning for nourishment, which inspired me to pursue teaching.
In 2013, I completed my first 200-hour certification with Lex Gillan at the Yoga Institute, where I deepened my understanding of meditation and the business of yoga.
I began teaching at LA Fitness, but as my classes grew, I encountered students with injuries and health issues seeking yoga as a cure. This experience drove me to seek more specialized training, leading me to "Balance Your Body Yoga." Through this program, I not only learned how to modify poses to assist those with health challenges but also learned about the crucial role of proper nutrition.
In 2016, I earned my 300-hour certification, enriching my practice and teaching.
